The Aboriginal Employment Plan 2009-2011 articulates our department's commitment to increasing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and creating an inclusive culture, which recognises and respects their values, cultures and traditions.

Key initiatives include:

  • DPC Nunga Network - provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees with the opportunity to identify key activities that will support the employment and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees across DPC.
  • Support programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees including Aboriginal Contact Officers and Aboriginal Mentoring Program.
  • Cultural Awareness education for all employees and managers.
  • Implementation of the Cultural Inclusion Framework.

Disability Action Plan

The Disability Action Plan sets out our commitment to people with disabilities who use our services, seek employment, or are already employed with us.

Workplace Safety and Wellbeing

At DPC we recognise that people are our most valuable asset and we are committed to ensuring that all employees are safe from risks to their health, safety and welfare while at work. The DPC OHS Management System lays the foundations for a systematic approach to the management of occupational health, safety and welfare, injury management and rehabilitation. Underpinning this framework is an effective consultation process that ensures our employees' views are genuinely taken into account, prior to decisions being made about matters that may affect their health and safety at work.
