As
head of the department Warren McCann is responsible
for the whole of government strategic direction
of policy development. In order to undertake
this role he meets regularly with the Premier
to discuss government priorities which form
the basis of an overall strategic framework.
Matters of current strategic importance include
Economic Development, Sustainability and Social
Inclusion.
The Chief Executive meets with two key groups:
Senior Management Council meets to discuss
cross portfolio
issues and develop strategic directions and
a coordinated approach to major issues affecting
the public sector. The council comprises the
following portfolios:

The Senior Management Group of the Department
of the Premier and Cabinet meets each fortnight.
