Medical Panels SA is a statutory authority
established under Part 6C of the Workers Rehabilitation and
Compensation Act 1986.
Medical panels have been established under this Act to
answer medical questions that arise when there is a disagreement or
uncertainty about aspects of an injured worker’s medical condition.
When a person is referred to a medical panel, they will
meet with and be examined by a panel of doctors who will then provide an
opinion about the question(s) that have been referred. There is a 60 day
statutory timeframe in which decisions must be made.
