In November 2005, the Round Table launched a media campaign informing the public about climate change, and what we all can do about it.

With a billboard, TV spots, full-page press placements and even a flash advertisement on hotmail, South Australians were given many opportunities to see the campaign messages.
The campaign ran through to February 2006.

The main goals of the campaign were to:

  • raise public awareness and understanding of climate change
  • create awareness that household energy consumption relates to climate change and every South Australian can make a difference
  • demonstrate South Australia’s commitment to tackling climate change.

Professor Tim Flannery featured as the presenter.

As part of the climate change public awareness campaign, the Round Table also oversaw the upgrade of the SA government’s climate change site, which now includes information for the general public on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The campaign also included press advertisements on the business case for sustainability, and the publication of Good Business, a sustainable industries booklet promoting examples of best practice business sustainability in this State (see above).
