About the Round Table

The Premier's Round Table on Sustainability was established in November 2003 to provide expert, independent advice to Government on long-term issues relating to environmental sustainability.

The Round Table members were distinguished South Australians with a breadth of expertise and depth of commitment to an environmentally sustainable State.

Formerly chaired by Professor Tim Flannery, the previous Director of the South Australian Museum, the Round Table was then chaired by Katherine Wells, Climate Change Consultant and Vice President of the Australian Conservation Foundation.

After 4 years of driving the climate change and sustainability agenda, the Round Table was disbanded in June 2007. The Premier's Climate Change Council has been established under the Climate Change and Greenhouse Emissions Reduction Act 2007 to provide independent advice to the Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change about how we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change in our State.
